Winter Storm

1/27/26

PUBLIC NOTICE

Black Bayou Water Association

Tuesday Winter Storm Update

Black Bayou Water Association is continuing to provide safe and reliable drinking water to our members.

At this time, most—but not all—of our facilities have been restored to utility power.

To help maintain service and manage system demand, Black Bayou Water Association will be connecting different parts of the water system together to better distribute load and ensure continued operation.

The water remains safe to drink. Some members may notice discoloration due to changes in water flow and the use of different source wells than they are used to.

As temperatures rise above freezing, water demand on the system is increasing. This increase is primarily due to:

• Leaks on the customer side of water meters caused by freeze damage

• Faucets being left running at higher flows instead of dripping

We strongly encourage all members to:

• Check for leaks around homes, buildings, and service lines

• Turn off the meter immediately if a leak is found

• Drip faucets only, rather than running them fully, to help conserve water and reduce strain on the system

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as efforts continue.

Winter Storm Update

Black Bayou Water Association wants to inform our members that some of our sites are currently operating on backup generators. We have ample fuel reserves available, and our system is running as expected. Everything is okay, and we continue to provide safe, reliable drinking water to our members.

As freezing temperatures continue, we ask for your cooperation in conserving water:

• Please drip faucets only to prevent pipes from freezing

• Do not leave faucets running full blast, as this puts unnecessary strain on the system

• As temperatures get above freezing, please remember to check for leaks, and turn off meters as soon as any leaks are located

Your help allows us to maintain steady service for the entire community during this weather event.

As road conditions continue to be poor, our office will remain closed until further notice; however, you can still reach us at 662-686-7150 if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience. Stay safe.
